Dansville Ambulance

PICTURES!

Some candid & serious moments caught on film:

This group of photos were taken in 1994 during a disaster drill held at the Dansville Elementary School.  This was a massive drill that took months of preparation.

Trucks first in to a report of an explosion inside the school.

Smoke showing!

Firefighters prepare for rescue operations from another entry/exit point.

EMS Command prepares to set

up for MCI conditions.

Care and transport decisions being made quickly.

Caring for your patient - even if it's just a pat on the shoulder.

Another drill placed an armed suspect taking hostages inside an office building.

Moulage for the 'victims'.

Dansville's finest enter the building with caution to look for the suspect and secure the scene. EMS companies stage until building is cleared by law enforcement.

Once building is cleared, triage teams enter to find multiple gunshot victims. Treatment & Transport teams. The 'suspect' in custody!

This was part drill, part presentation for students at the Dansville Sr. High School.  It simulated a DWI - MVA that involved students who chose to drink and drive on Prom Night.

Paul Bonjorno played the role of the innocent driver that was struck by the intoxicated prom goers.

Members of the Dansville Fire Department help extricate the victims. Ramona Biddle holds head stabilization until her patient can be extricated.

Then Deputy Director Jim Renwand helps stabilize a patient. Dottie Cramer helps ready a patient for transport. The 'suspect', played by a local student, is questioned by DPD Officer Faugh.

In 2005 another DWI/Prom Nite scenerio was 'performed' for the junior and senior classes at Dansville Central School:

Sandra and Carl Sanderson help moulage

a victim prior to the presentation.

Ramona Biddle adds finishing touches

to our 'DOA'!

Students are led pass the crashed

vehicles prior to taking their seats

for the demonstration.

DPD Police Chief Charles Perkins serves

as narrator for the presentation.

DPD Officer Robin Humphrey is first

to arrive on scene of the MVA.

EMS and Rescue Personnel go to work

extricating the victims.

A K.E.D. is applied to one of the victims.

A wider shot of the entire scene.

EMT's Carrie Hartzell & Joyce Williams

help move a patient to the ambulance.

With the patients extricated and

transported, the focus now shifts to

Law Enforcement.

The prom-going driver, who choose to

drink and drive is arrested by Officer Humphrey and taken in handcuffs to the police car.

Hindle Funeral Home removes the

deceased passenger.

More pictures will be posted as they come in!
